In February 2007, Singapore welcomed 749,000 visitors, registering a 2.9% growth over the same period a year ago. This was a
record high for the month of February. Visitor days were estimated to reach 2.6 million days, an increase of 9.4% in comparison to February 2006.
Indonesia (119,000), P.R. China (110,000), United Kingdom (50,000), Malaysia (48,000), and Japan (47,000) were Singapores top
five visitor-generating markets in February 2007. These markets accounted for 50% of total visitor arrivals for the month.
In February 2007, Singapore gazetted hotels were estimated to generate
Sin$121.8 million in room revenue, remaining relatively
unchanged as compared to February 2006.
The Average Room Rate (ARR) in February 2007 was estimated at
Sin$179, an increase of 2.6% over February 2006. The Average Occupancy Rate
(AOR) for hotels was estimated to have reached 83% in February 2007, a marginal decline of 0.3 percentage point over February 2006.
