Kempinski Hotels has signed a management agreement for Pragelato Village Resort & Spa, a five star luxury mountain resort which will be
taken over and branded as Kempinski Pragelato Village, effective 1 December 2007. The property is set in the Piedmontese commune of
Pragelato in the Italian Alps, one hour from Turin international airport and two hours from either Milan or Geneva international airports.
The resort has been designed as a mountain village, with 204 units in chalets surrounding a main building and Village Plaza which houses
four restaurants, a bar and a 1,500 m2 Wellness & Spa centre. Three Luxury Suites styled in a modern, alpine design offer a Vichy shower
and Jacuzzi in the bathroom plus a real log fireplace in the sitting room.
Traditional chalets each house between two and five deluxe chalet suites, which range in size from one to three bedrooms. The chalet suites
have been designed with families in mind, each with a living room and most also have a kitchenette. A number of these chalet suites will be
available as serviced Kempinski Residences and some chalet suites will be made available for sale to investors interested in acquiring a
Kempinski Private Residence.
The resort has been designed as a year-round destination. Every detail has been considered, with a resort cinema, boutique, village
delicatessen and ski-shop. The Casa Pinocchio childrens club has its own two-storey clubhouse and a professional team cares for the
children. The Wellness & Spa centre is a temple to wellbeing, where guests can re-energise mind and body in the heated indoor and outdoor
pools, saunas and Turkish bath, workout in the state-of-the-art Technogym, or bliss out in the four treatment rooms. Additional treatment
rooms and spa facilities will be added to enlarge the spa, by summer 2008. The resorts unique setting also lends itself perfectly to
celebrating special events, product launches or holding a corporate retreat. Banquets can be held in the Winter Garden for up to 120 guests,
and three meeting rooms can host large scale conferences for a total of 240 participants, with further facilities being added by end 2011.
Pragelato is a top destination in both winter and summer, attracting visitors during winter with world class sporting activities such as the
cross-country skiing, ski jumping or Nordic combined events it hosted during the XX Olympic Winter Games in 2006. Kempinski Pragelato
Village has direct access to alpine and cross-country slopes and two ski lifts direct to the resort, one of which accesses the Via Lattea ski
area with 400km of pistes on 200 runs, at 1350-2800 m altitude. Snowboarding, snowshoe hiking and snow or ice quad driving can all be
booked or expert tuition arranged through the resorts Concierge. There is also a childrens snow park which transforms into a fun park for
the summer. During summer months, discover valleys and lakes while pony trekking, hiking or climbing in the Piedmontese Alps. Summer
sports such as paragliding, rafting, canoeing and canyoning are also on offer. There is a driving range a few minutes from the resort and a
9-hole golf course is planned for summer 2008. Kempinski Pragelato Village is set on seven hectares of land between two spectacular
National Parks, the Val Troncea Nature Reserve known as a Valley of Flowers and the Orsiera Nature Reserve, a protected area that covers
several valleys and includes historical landmarks.
