Halong
Bay cruise operator, Emeraude Classic Cruises, has opened the Emeraude Café, a combination restaurant and luxury reception hall.
Located in Bai Chay at the Royal Park Resort, the café connects to the Emeraude’s private
pier, providing, convenient transitional space for guests to embark on the luxury overnight cruise.
“We wanted an elegant, comfortable place to give our guests a VIP welcome,”
said Kurt Walter, Emeraude’s general manager. “For large groups, especially, the café takes the hassle out of preparing for a trip. Here, our passengers can check in, relax and refresh themselves,
and then board the boat, all from a single spot.”
The cafe
serves a selection of Western food, including freshly made sandwiches, panini and pizza. Along with an extensive variety of
teas, coffees and fresh juices, the café also has an excellent wine list, sourced from around the world.
“Onshore in Halong Bay, there has been significant demand for a restaurant of international standard,” said Marcel Isaak, the executive chef
at Hanoi’s Press Club, who will coordinate food and beverage activities at the new café. “Until now, the choices have been limited to hotel
restaurants. We’re introducing the first real alternative, a place where guests can enjoy Western food at reasonable prices in comfort.”
A cozy interior and outdoor terrace will provide room for up to 70 diners.
Beyond the Café’s culinary attractions, the new facility features complimentary wireless access, two Internet terminals and a souvenir boutique.
The Café will also host a sales desk for tourists to book cruises on Halong Bay. In addition to overnight cruises, the Emeraude is now
offering Day Cruises.
