Galileo
will host the travel associations meetings at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2007, to be held in Singapore on 29 January 2007.
Galileo is also the main sponsor of a separate, but related industry seminar organized by the United Federation of Travel Agents’
Associations (UFTAA) and Federation of ASEAN Travel Associations (FATA) on 30 January, also held in Singapore.
The association meetings held in conjunction with the ATF will bring together key executives of travel associations of the 10 member
nations of ASEAN: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam
to exchange ideas, review industry developments and practices, and jointly formulate recommendations to further accelerate the growth
of ASEAN tourism. Four industry groupings will hold concurrent meetings on 29 January. They are the ASEAN Airline, ASEAN Hotel &
Restaurant Association (AHRA), Federation of ASEAN Travel Associations (FATA), and ASEAN Tourism Association
(ASEANTA).
The other seminar is organized by UFTAA, the world body representing the travel agency and tourism industry with the aim to update and
exchange ideas on ASEAN members’ plans and programmes intended to further improve the quality and standard of the ASEAN travel
industry.
