In September 2007, Singapore welcomed 766,000 visitors, representing a growth of 7.1% as compared to September 2006. This sets a new record for the month of September. Visitor days were estimated to reach
3 million days, an increase of 17.7% in comparison to September 2006.
Indonesia (136,000),
P.R. China (76,000), Australia (71,000), India (55,000) and Japan (54,000) were Singapores top five visitor-generating
markets. These markets accounted for 51% of total visitor arrivals for the month.
Singapore gazetted hotels were estimated to generate
Sin$152.2 million in room revenue, representing an increase of 7.4% over September
2006. This set a new record for the month of September.
The Average Room Rate (ARR) in September 2007 was estimated at
Sin$201, representing an increase of 4.6% over September 2006 and
setting another record for the month of September. The Average Occupancy Rate (AOR) for hotels was estimated to have reached 85% in
September 2007, posting a 3.4 percentage point increase over September 2006.
