United Airlines appoints Alison Espley as General Manager, Australia and New Zealand

United Airlines has appointed Alison Espley to the position of General Manager, Australia and New Zealand.

Alison Espley brings to United Airlines’ Australian and New Zealand customers 20 years experience in the aviation industry having spent 19 of those years in various roles with United Airlines in the United Kingdom, including her most recent position as national sales manager for the UK and Ireland where she was responsible for the corporate, agency and leisure areas of the airline.

As General Manager, Australia and New Zealand, Espley will have oversight of all United Airlines’ Australian and New Zealand business activities with direct accountability for sales, revenue, marketing, and administration.

Espley joined United in 1987 as an automation specialist for the Apollo computer reservation system. In 1991, she worked for United’s sales department at the company’s Atlantic Division headquarters in central London. Espley then held positions as leisure sales manager and as head of United Vacations before taking on her most recent role as sales manager for the UK and Ireland.

Commenting on the appointment Espley said, “I’m extremely excited to be part of the Pacific team and of one of the world’s most vibrant aviation markets. I also look forward to the introduction of United’s new business and first class products in Australia which I am confident will greatly improve our customers’ experience still further.
