LAN Airlines is expanding its services between South America and the USA, adding five new weekly nonstop flights from its home base of
Santiago, Chile, to Los Angeles, and three nonstop services from Santiago to New York.
The new Santiago - Los Angeles flights, which start on Saturday, 2 June, will depart at 11.00pm every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
and Saturday, arriving in Los Angeles at 7.40am the following day.
The nonstop flights from Santiago to Los Angeles are in addition to two weekly one-stop flights, which operate via Lima, Peru.
LAN’s new nonstop flights from Santiago to New York will commence on Sunday, 3 June and operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday,
departing at 8.45 pm and arriving at 7.35am.
These services are in addition to six weekly LAN flights from Santiago to New York via
Lima.
The new flights to both Los Angeles and New York will be operated with two-class Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
“Travel to South America and the USA continues to grow strongly,” said Rodrigo Contreras, LAN General Manager Australia, New Zealand and
Asia.
“These new services offer passengers the option to combine South America and the USA into one business or leisure trip,” he said.
“And because the new flights from Santiago operate overnight, passengers arrive early in both Los Angeles and New York, in time to maximise
their holiday or business time the following day.”
