Samed Resorts has opened
the Samed Club on Samed Island in the eastern seaboard of Thailand, about a one-hour drive from Pattaya and a 2.5
hour drive from the new Bangkok International Airport, Suvarnabhumi. The small island of Samed, famous for its fine white sands, sits about three kilometres
offshore.
The 30-room resort on the island’s Noi Na beach is being marketed as a modern, comfortable and competitively priced option on the northern
side of the island, looking back to the mainland.
“Samed Club is easy to get to and easy to enjoy, with the emphasis on informality, modern tropical design and uncomplicated comfort. It’s a
place for the young at heart,” said designer Mr Wit Ariyasriwatana of the qBism Studio Company in Bangkok who created the minimalist rooms
to be simple and uncluttered, but with modern functionality.
The restaurant patio is right beside the beach adjacent to a swimming pool and a patio area suitable for reading in the shade by day, or relaxing
with friends after sunset.
Each room reflects the concept of modern simplicity. The rooms have satellite TV, IDD phone, fridge/minibar and bathroom amenities.
The Samed
Club also provides free shuttle boat transfers up to four times a day to the jetty 150 metres from the resort.
Sailing, scuba diving, windsurfing, canoeing and snorkelling are all bookable from
the resort.
Net prices at Samed Club inclusive of taxes range from 2,700 to 3,600 Thai baht (US$77-103) depending on room type and season.
