Korean Air
is sponsoring the Musée du Louvre's new multimedia guide in an effort to promote
cultural exchange between France and Korea.
The
museum's multimedia guide is an innovative project aiming to offer visitors a revolutionized viewing
experience with its video functions, interactive content and options to personalize museum visits.
The guide provides an immense resource database which contains recorded interviews with
museum conservators and lecturers, as well as commentaries with different approaches tailored for
specific thematic visits. The Musée du Louvre is home to such a wealth of art and historical treasures
that it is impossible to see everything in one visit, so this pioneering new Korean Air digital guide will
enable visitors to plan and enjoy multiple visits.
Moreover, programs and sequences can be downloaded from the Louvre's website, making the
guide accessible to people around the world. The Korean Air guide also acts as a personal directory with its consultation interface,
artwork location function and visitor orientation. It provides descriptive reading about the works and sign language to enhance accessibility for
disabled visitors. It is expected that the new multimedia approach will substantially increase the usage rate, enhancing the viewing
experience of the 600,000 Louvre visitors each year.
Mr. Dal-Ho Kang, Managing Vice President of Korean Air's Europe Regional Headquarter, said, "We are very proud to be able to take part in
the Louvre's new multimedia guide project and help enhance visitors' viewing experience. Korean Air is committed to promoting cultural
exchange between Korea and the global destinations we serve. Korean Air strives to complement its excellent services by offering Korean
and other visitors to Paris the best tool to appreciate the very best works of art."
As part of Korean Air's sponsorship, the Louvre will add Korean to the guide's existing language options. Korean tourists visiting the Louvre
can enjoy over 35,000 works of art in the museum and appreciate French culture in their mother tongue.
The sponsorship brings Korean Air into contact with millions of foreign visitors to the Louvre. As one of the most revered international
centers for art enthusiasts, the Louvre will open up a huge potential customer base to Korean Air, increasing the brand awareness of the
carrier in the European market.
