Hong Kong Express Airways
has added a new destination to its rapidly growing route network with the launch of services between Hong
Kong and Kathmandu – the capital city of Nepal and gateway to the world famous Mount Everest.
The new scheduled service
operates 3 times weekly every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The inauguration of
flights to Kathmandu - the fifth new route to be launched by the airline this year
- comes just weeks after Hong Kong Express Airways’ introduction in November of flights between Hong Kong
and Yangon, and Kuala Lumpur.
Mr. Ronnie Choi, President of Hong Kong Express Airways said, “As we add another country to our network, we mark another milestone in
our development. 2007 has been a great year for Hong Kong Express Airways and I look forward to continuing our expansion into 2008 with
the addition of more new and exciting destinations to our network.”
Nepal is one of the fastest growing destinations in southern Asia that has seen
visitor figures surge in 2007. In anticipation of demand, Hong
Kong Express Airways will operate its new Kathmandu service with new generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft which is capable of
accommodating 164 passengers in two classes.
