Mövenpick
Hotels & Resorts has opened its second hotel in Kuwait, the 306
rooms Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bida’a.
The hotel is located in a prime location in the prestigious Salmiya quarter, only 15 minutes from Kuwait International Airport. Constructed as a
contemporary low-rise building covering a total surface area of 40,000 sqm, it features
architectural elements and colours inspired by the Mediterranean island of Sardinia.
A particular strength of the 306 room complex is the residential part with its studios, two and three-bedroom apartments, villas and a Royal Suite,
designed specifically to attract long stay guests and to serve as weekend retreat for the domestic market.
In the main restaurant guests
can enjoy a variety of trademark Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts buffets with international delicacies. The speciality
restaurant "Beldani" offers a selection of freshly caught fish and seafood. Drinks and snacks are served throughout the day in the "Veranda"
Lobby Lounge as well as the Pool Bar, and room service is also available 24 hours a day.
With a wide range of leisure activities including five outdoor swimming pools, three squash courts and a Kids’ Club, the Mövenpick Resort &
Residence Al Bida’a is ideally suited to families. The resort also boasts a 200m private beach as well as its own luxurious spa, health and fitness
centre (spa area due to open later this year).
For conferences and banquets the resort
boasts three flexible meeting rooms for up to 100 persons, a sub-divisible ballroom for 300 guests,
and a business centre to cater the needs of the corporate traveller.
"With this exceptional new product we now have a comprehensive offer for our guests in Kuwait, whether they are business travellers or
holidaymakers," explained Jean Gabriel Pérès, President & CEO Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. "Kuwait represents a key strategic destination for
the expansion of our brand in the Gulf region and we are proud that our presence in the country has been extended to two upscale
establishments."
