One
of Hong Kong’s newest designer boutique hotels, The Luxe Manor, has won its first accolade, inclusion in Conde Nast Traveller magazine's
annual ‘Hot List’ of the hottest, sexiest hotels, restaurants, spas and nightclubs to open around the world in the past year.
The luxury hotel,
styled after a European mansion, is the only hotel in Hong Kong included in the Hot List 2007.
The 159-room manor in Kimberley Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, is hailed as a “spirited
alternative to the grandiose chain hotels normally patronised by Hong Kong visitors”.
The judges commented: “There's more than a touch of Salvador Dali and a dash of Bladerunner to The Luxe Manor.”
High-tech innovations earn a special mention, especially internet-friendly TVs “in a gilded mirror above a faux fireplace” and wireless-enabled
telephony throughout.
“The six suites ratchet up the surreal experience, variously decorated to imitate a Bedouin tent, or with mirrored wallpaper,” commented Conde
Nast.
Signature restaurant Aspasia also earned praise for “solidly Italian haute cuisine” helmed by the Michelin-starred Roland Schuller, formerly
executive chef on Christina O, the yacht once owned by Greek tycoon Aristotle
Onassis.
General Manager Wallace Chiu
said, “It is a great honour to earn this recognition with such a prestigious accolade.”
“Newly re-designed to appeal to a unique and
stylish segment of the luxury leisure and business travellers, The Luxe Manor backs onto the buzzing dining and entertainment district of
Knutsford Terrace.”
The
manor features a business centre with full secretarial services, gym in the basement and function rooms.
Advanced technology includes NXTV’s Interactive Infotainment System viewable through an LCD flat panel TV; high definition video-on-demand;
wireless VoIP telephony; and wireless broadband internet access throughout the hotel.
Additional in-room features include luxurious bathroom amenities, digital in-room safe, mini bar, designer tea and coffee set, sleek contemporary
bathrooms with rain showers and a secure key card system for the lifts and guest rooms.
The Luxe Manor is managed by GR8 Leisure Concept Ltd., a Hong Kong based hospitality group.
