Life Wellness Resort Quy Nhon appoints Saichon Kingpayom as Spa Manager

Travel News Asia Tuesday, 17 April 2007

Saichon Kingpayom was recently appointed as spa manager of the Life Wellness Resort Quy Nhon, a luxury retreat perched on a hideaway stretch of Vietnam’s south-central coast.

Kingpayom, a Thai native, previously worked in a variety of resorts, including the Banyan Tree Resort in Indonesia, the Bandara Resort & Spa in Thailand, and the Kanuhura Beach & Spa Resort in the Maldives, where she developed her expertise in spa management, massage techniques, and staff training.

“I can’t wait to put my skills to use,” Kingpayom said. “This resort is really special. It’s the only one in the area and is completely surrounded by nature, so it’s the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate.”

The resort’s Life Spa is situated in a verdant, natural garden overlooking the sea. Its five open-air massage bungalows, dry-sand sauna, outdoor rock pool, meditation terrace, and panoramic views helped the Life Resorts garner a nomination for Best Destination Spa in the 2006 SpaAsia Crystal Awards.

“Our spa is built on the flank of a hill and surrounded by greenery,” said Chris Duffy, general director of Life Resorts Management. “We draw great inspiration from nature and so, we don’t use air conditioning in the Spa, or preservatives in our products. Thus, you can have an outdoor massage while looking out to sea and listening to the sound of waves breaking. The focus here is completely on nature and healing.”

All the treatment ingredients, including fresh coconut, aloe vera and green tea, come from local markets, and are prepared in a kitchen on-site for maximum freshness.

“We can take advantage of Vietnam’s amazing plant-life, and create chemical-free treatments that complement the Life Resort’s philosophy of wellness, like the body scrub with shredded coconut, or the banana and milk wrap,” Kingpayom said.
