Scandinavian Airlines (SAS)
is to increase its traffic between Copenhagen and New York with an additional service from May 20th, 2007.
"We are keen to offer our customers greater flexibility and respond to the needs from the business and tourism sectors. There is growing
demand on our routes to and from the US and, in particular, New York. The new service is an evening departure, which we know is very
popular, especially among our business travelers," said Lars Sandahl, Chief Commercial Officer, Scandinavian Airlines International.
The new service will operate four times a week until August 31st, 2007, offering customers an evening departure from Newark at 23.25,
with arrival in Copenhagen at 13.15 and departure from Copenhagen at 18.35, arriving at Newark at 21.05.
SAS
will operate the new service with its newly configured three class Airbus 340.
From March 25th 2007, the airline will also introduce a new non-stop service
between Stockholm and Beijing.
