Three of
Gulf Air's Boeing 767s are back in service and two more are expected to return to schedule in the coming week. The remaining four aircraft, awaiting slot allocation for planned maintenance checks, will gradually re-enter service.
The B767s were taken out of service by Gulf Air to conduct a thorough check, following the detection of traces of corrosion in one of them during
a planned maintenance inspection. Aircraft inspected and repaired, according to rules and recommendations and following consultation with
Boeing, are being released by maintenance provider SR Technics to Gulf Air for commercial operation.
Disruption to the network service over the last 10 days
was minimised by rescheduling Gulf Air’s fleet.
