The Hong Kong Tourism Board
(HKTB) has appointed Mr Anthony Lau Chun Hon (劉鎮漢)
as Executive Director and Mrs Daisy Lam (林雷穎嫻)
as Deputy Executive Director of the HKTB.
HKTB Chairman, The Hon James Tien said that both Mr Lau and Mrs Lam brought with them extensive expertise in marketing and management, making them the ideal
candidates for the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director positions. “I’m confident that their deep knowledge of the local and
international markets and their superb management skills will ensure that the HKTB is in an even stronger position to market and promote Hong
Kong worldwide, and to meet new challenges and opportunities amid the intensified competition in the global tourism market,” he
said.
“They’ll lead the organisation to even closer collaboration with
travel trade partners, and help strengthen Hong Kong’s position as one of the
world’s premier destinations.”
Mr Anthony Lau is a consummate marketing professional with international outlook. After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree
in Business Administration in 1985, he joined Philip Morris Asia in 1986, and oversaw the company’s product marketing and business
development. During his 20-year career with the company, he held a range of senior management positions, including Director of Sales &
Marketing and General Manager, for different markets, and worked in such locations as Hong Kong, Taiwan and Indonesia. Currently, he is
General Manager of Philip Morris Singapore, and plays a pivotal role in the company’s regional marketing and business development.
As for Mrs Daisy Lam, she graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1977 and is currently Octopus Cards Limited’s Operations Director.
Before joining Octopus in 2003, Mrs Lam worked for various large international corporations including Cathay Pacific
and HSBC. While working in these corporations, she was responsible for market development and
operations management. Her present role in Octopus includes implementation of the company’s long-term development, operations and service
strategies.
The appointment of Mr Lau and Mrs Lam is effective from 1 August 2007 and 1 September 2007
respectively.
