Tiger Airways welcomed its third millionth passenger
this week. Ms Tan Hui Bing, a Singaporean aged 27, traveled on TR702 from Singapore to Darwin.
A first time visitor to Darwin and on her second time flying on Tiger Airways, Ms Tan was pleasantly
surprised to be the recipient of a Tiger Airways plaque commemorating the occasion
presented by Tiger Airways Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer Rosalynn
Tay.
The lucky passenger also received
prizes worth over Sin$1000 from Tiger Airways and its partners, including flight credit vouchers, hotel vouchers from Octopus Travel, car rental vouchers
from Hertz, membership passes and goodies from Singapore Zoo and Night Safari.
To further welcome Tiger Airways third millionth passenger, Tourism NT representative Jacqueline
Lee presented a welcome pack for Tiger Airways’ third millionth passenger worth over
A$700
including TNT sponsored backpacks and caps, free land tours and meal vouchers for two persons, sponsored by AAT Kings, Sky City and
Hanuman Restaurant.
Rosalynn Tay said, “Tiger Airways is delighted to welcome its third millionth passenger just half a year later following its second millionth
passenger flown in December 2006. This is a significant milestone for the airline. Within three years of operations, we have already flown 3
million passengers across our Asia Pacific network encompassing China, South East Asia and Australia.
“Tiger Airways has grown exponentially with its first millionth passenger flown in March 2006, its second millionth passenger eight months
later in December 2006, and now its third millionth passenger less than seven months after. With the rapid expansion currently taking place,
Tiger Airways is confident of hitting the four million passenger mark in an even shorter time.”
To celebrate its rapid growth,
Tiger Airways is offering a promotional Milestone Special with seats going for just
Sin$ 0.03 cents! Bookings must happen before 14 July 2007.
Routes on sale include Singapore and Bangkok, Phuket, Udon Thani, Krabi and Padang for travel between 10 January – 29 March 2008.
With two new Indian services launched and with the commencement of Tiger Airways Australia domestic services later this year, Tiger
Airways is poised to fly more people to more places with its low, low fares. The airline expects to welcome its fourth millionth passenger by
the end of this year.
Tiger Airways has recently concluded an order for an additional 50 Airbus A320 aircraft to grow its fleet to 70 aircraft. This will allow the
airline to expand its network to bring more low fares to more passengers across the Asia-Pacific region.
Tiger Airways Australia
is also planning to grow its network of domestic routes within Australia. From 1 December 2007, the airline
is planning to operate three flights a week between Melbourne and Alice Springs with one-fares from
A$59.95 all inclusive, and daily flights between Melbourne and Perth with one-way fares from
A$69.95 all inclusive.
