Travel News Asia Friday, 13 April 2007

Continental Airlines has launched an interline e-ticket partnership with China Southern Airlines. China Southern became the company’s first Chinese carrier partner and 72nd interline e-ticket partner in the world. Continental Airlines is also China Southern’s first interline e-ticket foreign carrier partner on an international route. Continental Airlines is now able to issue e-tickets for the routes serviced by China Southern. The agreement enables the customers of the both carriers to enjoy the benefits and convenience of requiring just one electronic ticket (e-ticket) for the entire journey.

“Continental Airlines is pleased to establish the interline e-ticket partnership with China Southern. With interline e-ticketing, travel processes are streamlined and check-in procedures are made faster,” said HC Kwok, Chief Representative and Country Director for Continental Airlines in China, “This partnership will bring convenience and benefits to customers of both Continental Airlines and China Southern.”

“We are also expecting China Southern to become an official member of ‘Sky Team’ by the end of the year. Working under the same alliance means we can share networks and provide our customers with a seamless travel experience.”

Sky Team signed Global Airline Alliance Adherence Agreement (GAAAA) with China Southern Airlines on June 28, 2006.
