Reed Travel Exhibitions
is expecting a record number of exhibitors at AIME 2007, as
last minute preparations are made for the 15th Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo
in Melbourne, Australia.
The two-day event opens at 10am on Tuesday 13 February at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
“Exhibitors numbers are up to 850 with representation from 50 countries. This is up from 835 last year and a significant
achievement considering we had only eight months between events. I think it emphasizes the strength of the event
and the industry support,” said AIME Event Director, Rosemarie Sama.
The largest space at the exhibition has been taken by host city Melbourne and surrounding regional Victoria
exhibitors. The stand combines the presence of the Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau, AIME’s owner, the
Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre and the Regional Victoria Conference Group and covers 337 square
metres of space.
Hong Kong has taken the next largest space covering 225 square metres and Thailand is next largest at 180sqm.
Australian exhibitors represent almost
half the show (43.7%), with 28.1% of exhibitors from Asia, 9.4 % from New
Zealand/Pacific and 18.8% from other international destinations.
Leigh Harry, President, ICCA, will officially open AIME 2007 at 9.45am next Tuesday. Doors open at 10am.
