Since Spain Week began on 26th January at Expo Royal Flora, the flamenco troupe that gives interactive classes at the Spanish
garden in the morning has been scoring huge successes with its afternoon performances in the amphitheatre of Thailands Expo
Royal Flora event. Another popular event is the food tasting, where an expert ham slicer and a wine pourer display their skills, and
visitors can sample Spanish sherry, among other treats.
The government of Spains southern region of Andalusia has played an important part in staging the events of Spain Week. Over a
five-day period a flamenco troupe gives interactive classes in the morning and performances in the afternoon. The troupe is made
up by dancers Yolanda Lorenzo and Rafael de Carmen, singers Nano de Jerez and Juan Jos Amador, clapper and percussionist
Jos Jimenez Santiago Bobote, and guitarist Eduardo Rebollar. Both the classes and performances are well-attended by
enthusiastic crowds.
For Spain Week the Andalusian government also brought to the Thai Expo an expert ham slicer and a wine pourer to introduce
visitors to the delights of the unique Spanish cured ham, which must be sliced paper thin, and the rich sherry wines from near the
Spanish town of Jerez de la Frontera.
