Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Tuesday, 11 September 2007

The Mandarin Oriental, Munich has completed a comprehensive renovation of all 48 guest rooms and 25 suites and an upgrade of the exterior facade.

All guest rooms feature sleek cherry wood furniture in neo-Biedermeier style, with subtle Asian influences reflecting the Oriental heritage of the luxury hotel group. In addition, state-of-the-art entertainment such as Bang & Olufsen flat-screen televisions with over 600 channels, as well as seamless customer-centric technology systems, a hallmark of Mandarin Oriental hotels worldwide, is available throughout.

The two exclusive Mandarin and Oriental Suites benefit from new conservatories, created by incorporating the original patios, affording an airy, light-flooded atmosphere and unique views of the cityscape and landmarks. Each suite also contains a variety of striking Asian objets d’art.

Michael Ziemer, General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental, Munich, said, “The elegant and sleek design of the new interiors and the best of all modern conveniences, combined with Mandarin Oriental’s highly individualized service, provides our guests with a delightful experience.”

Ralf Clausen of CM Design, was the lead architect responsible for the project.

Centrally located, the Mandarin Oriental, Munich is ideally located in the heart of Munich, within the city’s old town, only steps away from a host of museums, the Bavarian Opera House, theatres and the famous Hofbraeuhaus (beer hall and gardens). It is also within Munich’s most exclusive area for fine restaurants, designer boutiques, charming cafés, art galleries and picturesque farmers’ markets. Unique to Mandarin Oriental, Munich are its Michelin starred restaurant, Mark’s, and its rooftop terrace and heated swimming pool with spectacular 360 degree views over the city towards the Alps.
