China Airlines
is to launch a new Kaohsiung-Chiang Mai passenger service on April 18, with three flights per week, using a Boeing B737-800 jet.
This will be China Airlines' second passenger service to Chiang Mai, following the launch of its Taipei-Chiang Mai flights in March, 2005.
On the new Kaohsiung-Chiang Mai route,
China Airlines will operate a two class service, with eight seats in Dynasty Class and 150 seats in Economy
Class. The Chiang Mai-bound flight CI 691 will depart Kaohsiung every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 07:00 and arrive at Chiang Mai
International Airport at 09:35. The return flight, CI 692, will leave the same day at 10:25 from Chiang Mai, and arrive in Kaohsiung at 14:50.
Chiang Mai province is located in northern Thailand, and has a population of
around 1.5 million, and an area of more than 10,000 square kilometers.
Chiang Mai city is the largest city in northern Thailand and the second largest in Thailand. The Thailand government has aggressively developed
Chiang Mai into the country's second air transport hub, along with Bangkok.
