Due to the
high oil prices, Air France and KLM are both increasing their fuel surcharges.
Air
France is increasing the surcharge by:
1
Euro on domestic flights
2 Euros on medium-haul flights
7 Euros on long-haul flights
The
surcharge is valid on tickets issued in France
from 10 August 2006, and the airline confirmed that the increases would be withdrawn as soon as the price of the barrel drops below 65 dollars for 30 consecutive
days.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will increase its fuel surcharge by
5 Euro per stretch on all intercontinental flights and by 1 Euor per stretch on all intra
European flights.
This increase will
also be imposed on tickets issued from 10 August 2006; and will be withdrawn
once the barrel price has dropped below US$ 70 for more than 30 consecutive days.
