InterContinental Hotels
Group recently hosted a five-day FAM trip to Bangkok to introduce travel buyers to some of its most premier
properties in the region.
“One of the best ways to communicate with major decision makers in the GCC is to take them directly to the destinations and that is why we have invested in this direct
marketing approach,” said Chris Moloney, Chief Operating Officer, InterContinental Hotels Group, Middle East and
Africa.
Hosted at the Holiday Inn Silom and at the new Holiday Inn Bangkok, the travel agents enjoyed tours of both their host hotel as well as the InterContinental Bangkok
with lavish lunches laid out in both properties. A city tour arranged courtesy of Discover Holidays was conducted on the third day giving the travel agents a chance to
soak up some of the local flavour. The tour included the Klong River, the breathtaking Temple of Dawn and the Grand Palace.
The FAM trip
concluded in Bahrain, where the media enjoyed a night of leisure at the five-star InterContinental Regency Bahrain before transferring back to
KSA.
“As well as providing the 10 travel professionals with a snap-shot of Bangkok and our properties, the FAM trip provided a unique opportunity for us to meet one-on-one
in a relaxed environment and discuss ways in which all parties can move forward and benefit further,” said Chris Moloney, Chief Operating Officer, InterContinental
Hotels Group, Middle East and Africa.
