Gulf Air Frequent Flyer Programme ties up with Eurostar

Travel News Asia Wednesday, 8 November 2006

The Gulf Air Frequent Flyer programme (FFP) has welcomed Eurostar as its latest partner. Eurostar, the international high speed passenger service which links the UK to the continent has carried over 70 million travellers since services began in November 2004. Now Gulf Air FFP members will have the chance to redeem their miles for travel between London and Paris, Brussels, Lille or Disneyland Paris with Eurostar.

For instance, travellers can experience journeys between London and Paris in just two hours 35 minutes or between Brussels and London in just two hours 15 minutes. There are up to 17 services to Paris and 10 to Brussels daily making it an ideal transportation choice for business travellers within Europe.

In the autumn of 2007 Eurostar will switch its entire London operation from Waterloo International to St Pancras International with the completion of the UK’s first high-speed line. This will mean that journey times will be slashed by at least 20 minutes, giving journey times between London and Paris of just two hours 15 minutes and London and Brussels of less than two hours.

By redeeming 48,000 Gulf Air frequent flyer miles members can travel in Eurostar’s First Class carriages, also known as Leisure Select, and enjoy the ultimate in on-board indulgence. This includes spacious seating, a choice of complimentary magazines and a three-course meal served at the seat.

A 24,000 frequent flyer miles redemption allows members to travel in Standard Class, offering both convenience and comfort that come with drinks and snacks available for purchase from the two buffet cars situated at each end of the train.
