The Corinthia Group affiliated International Hotel Investments
(IHI), a public company based in Malta, with hotel investments in Budapest, Lisbon,
Malta, and St Petersburg, has renamed the five-star Corinthia Alfa Hotel in Lisbon
as the ‘Corinthia Lisboa Hotel’.
Following extensive renovation work in 2004, the 24-story Corinthia Alfa Hotel emerged as the newest five-star hotel in the city. The hotel has 517
rooms and suites and 3,000m2 allocated to state-of-the-art meeting facilities, with 17 meeting and syndicate rooms, the largest of which houses up
to 750 delegates in theatre style. This makes Corinthia Alfa one of the largest conference hotels in Lisbon, able to handle 1,400 delegates at any given time,
supported by a 24th floor Executive Lounge affording views of Lisbon, complete with boardrooms, executive check-in and business
facilities. All the hotel’s communal areas have wireless Internet access.
Announcing the name change, Corinthia Lisboa general manager Jose Luiz Moreira said “The property has been operating as the Corinthia Alfa
Hotel ever since IHI took it over in 2001. The retention of the name Alfa enabled us to capitalize on the market's awareness and knowledge of the
original Alfa Hotel that had served the Lisbon market for many years. However, since its re-opening last year with a vastly improved product that
firmly established it as one of the leading 5-star hotels in the Lisbon market, we firmly believe it is now time for the respected ‘Corinthia’ trade name
to feature prominently alongside that of the great city it serves, hence Corinthia
Lisboa.”
Located in the heart of Lisbon’s financial district, the Corinthia Lisboa hotel is within close distance to the historical city centre, as well as being
very close to the magnificent Estoril coastline.
IHI is a public company based in Malta with hotel investments in Lisbon, Malta, Budapest and St Petersburg. The Company’s hotels are operated
by Corinthia Hotels International, an associate company of IHI that operates 20
four and five-star city and resort hotels in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Libya, Malta, Portugal, Russia, The Gambia, Togo, Tunisia and Turkey.
