Maria da Cunha has been appointed
as Head of Government and Industry Affairs at British Airways with effect from April 1, 2006.
She replaces Andrew Cahn who is leaving the airline at the end of March to take up the position of Chief Executive at UK Trade and Investment.
Maria will combine her new responsibilities with her current role as Head of Legal, reporting to Robert Webb, QC. General Counsel.
Maria, 43, joined British Airways in January 2000 as Competition Lawyer from Lloyds of London. She was promoted to Head of Legal in April 2002.
Maria has two children aged 12 and 10.
