Hong Kong Express Airways launches Charter Flights to Taichung

Travel News Asia Monday, 5 June 2006

Hong Kong Express Airways has launched the first of its charter services between Hong Kong and Taichung in Taiwan. The airline is flying the route in collaboration with Mandarin Airlines to offer passengers the convenience of seven flights per week between the two destinations. Hong Kong Express Airways will use its new 76 seat Embraer 170 aircraft to operate the service.

“We are delighted to be flying on this important route,” said Hong Kong Express Airways General Manager Sales, Simon Sin. “Taichung is a burgeoning leisure and business destination. We are happy to present travellers with the opportunity to visit one of Asia’s most happening cities – I’m confident they will be very pleasantly surprised by what they find there.”

Of the seven services offered each week between Hong Kong and Taichung, Hong Kong Express Airways will operate one return flight every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday with Mandarin Airlines operating a flight every Wednesday and Saturday. To meet anticipated demand for air travel between the two destinations, both airlines will operate a return flight every Friday.

Hong Kong Express Airways currently operates six scheduled flights daily connecting Hong Kong and Hangzhou, Ningbo and Nanjing in Mainland China and will launch its new non-stop scheduled service between Hong Kong and Chiang Mai on June 22nd. Further planned route launches include Chongqing, which is slated to commence later this summer.
