Marco Polo Hotels
has opened a Shanghai marketing and development office. The office is led by Ms. Margaret Tsang, formerly the marketing
director for the Marco Polo hotel in Xiamen. As Director of Marketing & Development, her responsibilities will include the corporate, travel agent,
airlines and government accounts in the region as well as the identification of new hotel management opportunities for Marco Polo Hotels. The
Shanghai office will be the group’s eighth regional sales office worldwide and the second in mainland China serving the growing number of
outbound Marco Polo customers within the Yangtze River Delta.
The decision to establish the Shanghai office
provides marketing support for both existing and new hotels to be opening this year, including the Marco Polo Plaza in Cebu, the Marco Polo Shenzhen and the Marco
Polo Parkside, Beijing. The new properties will increase Marco Polo’s portfolio to a total of ten hotels in the region, four of which are in mainland
China.
