In June 2006, Singapore welcomed 786,704 visitors, registering a 5.3% growth over the same period a year ago. This is a record high for June.
Visitor days were estimated to reach 2.8 million, an increase of 5.5% in comparison to June 2005.
Indonesia (167,000),
P.R. China (71,000), India (68,000), Australia (61,000) and Malaysia (56,000) were Singapores top five visitor-generating markets. These markets accounted for 54% of total visitor arrivals for the month.
In June 2006, Singapore gazetted hotels recorded
Sin$129.4 million in room revenue, an increase of 16.5% over June 2005.
The Average Room Rate
(ARR) was estimated at Sin$170, an increase of 16.8% over June 2005. The Average Occupancy Rate (AOR) for
hotels was estimated to have reached 86%, a 1.4 percentage point decline over June 2005.
