SriLankan Airlines has commenced flights from Colombo to the famed Indian coastal resort town of Goa – the airline’s 50th global destination
and its 10th in India.
The twice-weekly Colombo-Goa flights, which take two hours, now operate every Monday and Saturday.
SriLankan is the largest foreign carrier operating to India, with nearly 100 weekly flights to New Delhi, Bombay, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Madras,
Trichy, Trivandrum, Calicut, and Kochi.
Ian Robinson, Regional Manager Australia for SriLankan Airlines, said India was the biggest single market for the airline, and offered continued
opportunities for strong growth.
“We have positioned ourselves as the link between India and the rest of the world, and we have been steadily expanding our presence there in
the last few years,” said Mr Robinson. “We see our services to Goa as having excellent commercial prospects.”
