To
support the expansion of its services and planned route network
development, Hong Kong Express Airways has chosen to partner with SITA a
leading service provider of IT business solutions and communications services to the air transport community.
“With three Hong Kong – China routes already established and our fourth set to launch in only a matter of days, now is the right time to really
solidify our distribution system. SITA Reservations and SITA Ticketing ensure instant accessibility for travel agents linked to Galileo, Amadeus,
Abacus, Travelsky, Sabre, and INFINI and has given tremendous support to our drive to offer passengers internationally frequent feeder services
into mainland China,” said Hong Kong Express CEO Andrew Tse.
Providing the infrastructure and enhanced automation required to maximise current and future ticket distribution, Hong Kong Express Airways’
three-year exclusive contract with SITA forms the backbone of a sales channel strategy to which access via these GDSs is the perfect adjunct.
Travel agents worldwide that subscribe to these six major GDSs now have real-time easy access to Hong Kong Express Airways’ flight schedule as
well as fully automated booking confirmation.
“SITA’s Horizon suite of solutions allows Hong Kong Express to have a state of the art, end to end distribution system for ticket sales. Horizon
reduces distribution costs by providing direct connections to all channels to market and putting the airline in control. We look forward to helping
Hong Kong Express meet its growth targets in the years ahead,” said Elyes M’Rad, SITA Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing, North Asia
and China.
Hong Kong Express Airways operates five flights daily connecting Hong Kong to Hangzhou and Ningbo in Mainland China. The airline will launch
its fourth scheduled service between Hong Kong and Nanjing on 31 March
2006 with subsequent services to Chongqing being introduced in mid 2006.
