In February 2006, Singapore welcomed 727,000 visitors, registering a 15.9% growth over the same period a year ago. Visitor days were estimated to
reach 2.4 million, an increase of 7.8% in comparison to February 2005.
Indonesia (122,000), P.R.
of China (97,000), the UK (51,000), Japan (45,000) and Malaysia (44,000) were Singapores top five visitor-generating markets
in February 2006. These markets accounted for 49% of total visitor arrivals for the month.
In February 2006, Singapore gazetted hotels recorded
Sin$117 million in room revenue, an increase of 53.2% over February 2005.
The Average Room Rate (ARR) in February 2006 was estimated at
Sin$173, an increase of 36.8% over February 2005. The Average Occupancy Rate
(AOR) for hotels was estimated to have reached 84% in February 2006, a 7 percentage points increase over February 2005.
