Theo Ocks appointed Director of Marketing of The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott Jakarta

Mr Theo Ocks has been appointed Director of Marketing of The Ritz-Carlton, Jakarta and JW Marriott Jakarta. In his new role, he will be responsible for all the hotel's sales and marketing activities.

Mr Ocks has over 12 years of experience in hospitality business with companies such as Radisson SAS and Accor in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Ocks spent six years with Accor, where his most recent assignment was the repositioning and rebranding of the Novotel Clarke Quay, Singapore.

Before joining Novotel Clarke Quay, Mr Ocks was Country Director of Sales and Marketing for Accor Indonesia from 2003 to 2005. In this position, he successfully oversaw 30 hotels with an inventory of 5,500 guestrooms of various Accor brands including Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure and Ibis.

“I am delighted to return to Indonesia. Business is on the rise again in spite of difficult circumstances and I look forward to contributing to the continued success of The Ritz Carlton and JW Marriott hotels,” Mr Ocks said.

A native of the Netherlands, Mr Ocks received his degree from Hotel School at The Hague-International Institute for Hospitality Management in 1997. He speaks fluent Dutch, English, French, German and moderate Spanish as well as Indonesian.
