State-owned
Ecuadorian airline TAME Línea Aérea del Ecuador took delivery last
week, of its first two 76-seat Embraer 170s at its headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
“TAME is the first operator of
Embraer 170/190 aircraft in South America. We wish them success in strengthening their position in the domestic
airline market. With their unparalleled combination of comfort, performance and economy, we are convinced
Embraer E-Jets will greatly contribute for TAME’s expansion and modernization
plans,” said Luiz Carlos Siqueira Aguiar, Embraer Executive Vice-President, Defense
and Government Market.
TAME has ordered two
Embraer 170s and one 104-seat Embraer 190, with deliveries to be completed in 2006. The Ecuadorian company also
holds four options on aircraft of the Embraer 170/190 family.
TAME
has over 40 years of operation and has flown more than 28 million passengers.
