A cutting-edge version of KrisWorld, Singapore Airlines’ award winning inflight entertainment (IFE) system will be introduced as the
airline welcomes new aircraft into its fleet later this year.
The world’s first carrier to launch the eX2™ IFE system by Panasonic Avionics Corporation, Singapore Airlines’ latest version of KrisWorld will
offer an unprecedented number of on-demand entertainment and information options, and greater interactivity.
Programmes will also be displayed on larger, high-resolution screens across all three classes in the
airline’s new Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range) and Airbus A380 super-jumbo.
“The new KrisWorld represents the future of inflight entertainment and is designed to cater to the demands of our customers who increasingly
want to do more with their time when inflight,” said Mr Yap Kim Wah, Singapore Airlines Senior Vice-President Product and Services.
“So
besides offering more high quality movies, TV programmes and music CDs, we are also harnessing the capabilities of the eX2 system to offer
new interactive learning programmes and applications,” added Mr Yap.
The current version of KrisWorld offers an extensive selection of entertainment options, including 80 movies, up to 100 TV programmes, 180
music CD albums and audio books, 90 video games, as well as the ever-popular interactive language learning programme Berlitz Word
Traveler.
More details of the next generation KrisWorld
are expected to be announced at the carrier’s new cabin product launch on 17 October.
