Marco Polo Hotels
has appointed John Berndt as Vice President, Operations. Mr. Berndt will supervise the existing Marco Polo Hotels outside of
Hong Kong, provide oversight for the pre-opening management of new hotel projects and be responsible for the development of quality standards
and new restaurant concepts for company-wide Food and Beverage operations.
John Girard will assume the responsibilities of General Manager of the Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel and Area Director supervising consolidated
departments and assigned hotels in Hong Kong.
“John Berndt, a graduate of the prestigious Cornell University hotel school, has an extensive background in hotel operations having been General
Manager of several five star hotels in the United States and Asia. He has particular expertise in Food & Beverage operations having managed some
of the most famous restaurants in the world,” said Jeffrey Flowers, President of Marco Polo Hotels. “With our increasingly aggressive expansion,
John Girard’s in-depth experience will be called upon to guide the development of executive staff for our new Marco Polo hotels’ projects
throughout the region.”
