Bahrain-based Norwegian businessman Eivind Fondenaer is the first winner of the Million miles promotion
launched by Gulf Air recently for its Frequent Flyer Programme (FFP) members.
In the first of the four draws held in presence of Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Gulf Air officials, Fondenaer, a Gold tier member, who
flew between 1 and 30 September 2006, won the coveted prize in a computerised draw of Gulf Air FFP members.
In the Frequent Flyer Programme’s biggest ever promotion, three draws will take place for passengers flying with Gulf Air between 1 September
and 30 November 2006. In addition, a fourth draw will take place in December for all members who have flown during the three-month promotion
period, so everyone has two chances to win.
“I am very surprised; I have never won anything like this
before,” said a delighted Mr Fondenaer. “I have always been very loyal to
Gulf Air and it is great that my loyalty has paid off.”
Gulf Air offers one of the most generous loyalty programmes in the airline business with benefits that include an extended mile life of 10 years,
excess baggage allowance, priority check-in, priority baggage handling as well as priority waitlisting if
flights are full and lounge access depending on membership level.
