Last October Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts took over the Voile d’Or
Resort & Spa on the basis of a management contract with the proprietor
company Salt Lake Resorts Ltd. Now Kingdom Hotel Investments (KHI), a leading hotel & resort acquisition and development company and
partner in Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, has acquired the hotel on Mauritius to become the new owners of this first-rate holiday resort in the
Indian Ocean. The acquisition has also resulted in a change in the
hotel’s name: the term “Voile d’Or” is to be omitted, and the resort will now be
called Mövenpick Resort & Spa Mauritius.
The four-star plus hotel, located in Bel Ombre on the island’s south-west coast,
has 181 spacious rooms and suites.
“We’re very pleased that the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Mauritius now
complements our portfolio”, said Sarmad Zok, CEO of Kingdom Hotel Investments. “The acquisition is entirely in keeping with our strategy of
investing in hotel projects with a strong growth potential. Mauritius is a key
player in the development of tourism in the Indian Ocean, and this hotel is a
first-rate establishment in a paradise setting.”
