As part of the preparations for the forthcoming launch of its scheduled flight services between Hong Kong and Doha - set to commence from
26 March 2006, Qatar Airways is currently putting the finishing touches to both its new Hong Kong office and the sales and reservations teams that will
work there. Headed by travel industry veteran, Mr. Rocky Kwok - Qatar Airways’ recently appointed Area Manager Hong Kong and Macau, the office
– located in Hong Kong CBD’s Jardine House, is due to be officially opened shortly.
With extensive knowledge of airline sales, reservations and international marketing operations gained through a long and well established career

Kong and Macau. The office is Qatar Airways’ latest in the Asia Pacific region and third in Greater China – the others being Beijing and the airline’s
regional headquarters located in Shanghai.
Hong Kong will become Qatar Airways’ 12th Far East destination that already covers Osaka, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Manila, Cebu, Singapore,
Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Yangon and Jakarta.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker
said, “As a strategic hub for the aviation industry, Hong Kong is central to our future
development and expansion plans in Asia. As such, the role of Area Manager required a proven track record strong in operational capabilities.
Rocky’s background made him the ideal choice for this position and I am confident that he will rise admirably to meet and
conquer the challenges that lie ahead.”
