Starwood to manage new Westin Hotel in Beijing

Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Beijing Modern Asia – Pacific Real Estate have signed an agreement for Starwood to manage a 558-room Westin hotel at Chaoyang district : The Westin Beijing at Chaoyang, Beijing.

The Westin Beijing at Chaoyang will part of a multi-purpose complex comprising hotel, office towers and retail space, and will be located in Liangma He, at Chaoyang District. The district is home to a good part of Beijing's diplomatic quarters, with many embassies located in the area and is the second most populous district of Beijing. The famous Sanlitun bar street also finds its home in Chaoyang district, as well as Beijing's evolving Central Business District and the Olympic Park that is being built for the 2008 Summer Olympics. There is also easy access to the highway link to Beijing International Airport.

In addition to its 558 guest rooms, The Westin Beijing at Chaoyang will feature approximately 16,400 square feet of meeting space, four food and beverage outlets, a health club and a spa.

The Westin Beijing at Chaoyang will be the sixth Westin hotel in mainland China and the second in Beijing, joining The Westin Shanghai, The Westin Beijing, Financial Street, The Westin Guangzhou, The Westin Nanjing and The Westin Zhejiang Resort, Nine Dragon Hill. The Westins in Beijing, Financial Street, Guangzhou, Zhejiang and Nanjing are slated to open in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 respectively.
