InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed a new Director of Development Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific, Todd Wynne Parry to drive
continuing expansion of the groups hotel brand portfolios in the region.
This includes securing new management contracts and joint venture opportunities to build the
groups InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn portfolios, as well as working with the
groups operations team to ensure strong returns on the assets of its existing family of hotel owners.
In joining InterContinental Hotels Group, Todd is embarking on an exciting phase in our companys growth. We have undertaken to add 50,000 to
60,000 net rooms to the groups global portfolio of branded hotels within the next three years, 40% of which is expected to come from the Asia
Pacific. While a significant portion of that growth will come from China, there are still many opportunities in Australia, New Zealand and South
Pacific that Todd will be working towards, said InterContinental Hotels Group Vice President of Development Asia Pacific, Tony South.
During his eighteen years to date in the hotel industry in Australia, Asia and the United States, Todd has held senior development positions with
Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Westin Hotels and Resorts, Marriott International and Horwarth Asia Pacific. In his most recent role, Todd was
responsible for acquisitions and development for Toga Hospitalitys family of brands in Australia and New Zealand.
Todds appointment follows the promotion of existing regional Director of Development, Phil Kasselis to the position of Vice President Development
Middle East and Africa. Phil will relocate to Dubai to take up the position, which has been created to meet the increasing number of expansion
opportunities for the group in the region.
