Celadon International Hotels to manage Luxury Hotel in Hue

Travel News Asia 20 February 2006

Vietnam-based international hotel management group, Celadon International Hotels, has signed an agreement to manage a new luxury hotel in Hue, the ancient Vietnamese capital and UNESCO-listed World Heritage city.

The new Celadon Hotel Hue, the first hotel to come under the new company’s branding, will be a 5-star property when it opens later this year.

“The prestigiously branded Celadon Hotel Hue, with 238 luxuriously appointed suites and rooms, aims to set a new hospitality benchmark for both Hue and the management group’s premium brand,” said Celadon's CEO Paul Stoll.

Mr. Stoll pledged The Celadon Hotel will “attract new business segments to this beautiful city with its abundance of history and culture”.

With an international airport and deep seawater port, Hue resembles a massive open-air museum on the banks of Central Vietnam’s Perfume River with hundreds of temples, pagodas, palaces and tombs – including an ancient replica of the Forbidden City in Beijing.

Hue is gateway to Vietnam’s East West Economic Corridor connecting the country to Laos, Thailand and Myanmar. The city is also close to other UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites including the mystical Phong Nha Caves (90-minute drive), My Son the spiritual centre of the Champa civilization (2 hour drive) and Hoi An, the remarkably well preserved 17th century Silk Route seaport, just to the south of Danang. (2 hour drive)

Celadon International will introduce the luxury Celadon Hue Hotel to the international market during ITB Berlin, Germany in March 2006. Celadon International Hotels will be represented by Mr. Tony Le Dinh Tuan, Chief Marketing Officer, at the Vietnam stand in cooperation with the Vietnam National Administration for Tourism (VNAT) and Vietnam Tourism Association.

Celadon offers international-standard management under three distinct hotel brands -- the luxury brand ‘Celadon’, budget brand ‘Waves’ and highly themed brand ‘Exotica’.
