Howard Johnson appoints Peter L Herweck as Director of Operations - China

Peter L Herweck has joined Howard Johnson Hotels & Resorts as Director of Operations – China, based in Shanghai and responsible for all operational affairs in the region.

Mr. Herweck, originally from Germany, has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to this position, Mr. Herweck was the General Manager of Mayfair Hotel Shanghai and Director of Hotel Development & Operations of New World China Land.

Mr. Herweck is no stranger to China, he worked in Hong Kong from 1991 through 1995, and later in Shanghai from 1995 through 2005 where he operated two five-star international hotels successfully in the city.

“Peter is an excellent complement to the rapid growth of Howard Johnson in China where we have nearly tripled our portfolio to 30 properties in the past two years,” said Wilburt Chang, Chairman & CEO of Howard Johnson China.
