KEA has upgraded its fleet of 4WD campers and added a wide range of new features, setting new standards in comfort, innovation and design for off-road
campers in Australia.
The first enhanced 4WDs
rolled off the line at KEA’s manufacturing plant in Sydney, improving what were already
some of the safest and most reliable off-road campers available for purchase across Australia. Popular since KEA first introduced the fleet in 2005, the 4WD campers are a unique combination of robust
off-road ability with innovative interior design and luxurious construction.
“These have been popular campers since we launched our 78 Series Troop Carriers in Australia and demand has generally outstripped supply. The
enthusiastic feedback of our customers has given us some great ideas for improving the layout and features of our luxury 4WD campers,” said KEA
International Sales and Marketing Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Richard
McKisack.
“Our new campers are more comfortable, better equipped, and use higher quality fittings and features than any other vehicle of this type available for rental
across Australia, and I would urge anyone with an interest in taking the road less travelled to give one a try.”
The new features start with the vehicles interior design, which allows two people space to relax and move around without blocking each other. The
improved use of space is enhanced by the more than two metres of head room allowed by the camper’s new pop top, which is ventilated top to bottom and
also extends over the cab to provide extra storage and sleeping space.
New bed fixtures in the 4WD camper ensure that the over-cab king bed now takes just three seconds to set up. An additional single bed on the lower level
still allows room to move within the rear of the vehicle.
KEA now offers the only off-road vehicles with three separate power sources – motor, solar panel and 240V battery – to ensure an unprecedented level of
reliability while touring. The use of strong yet lightweight materials also results in better fuel economy for the 4WD campers.
The improvements build upon the camper’s existing features including GPS system and recovery kit as standard, microsuede finishing on all soft fixtures,
a stove that can be used inside and outdoors, stacks of storage space and standard equipment including sleeping bags, linen and crockery.
“Combined with the camper’s powerful 4.2 litre diesel engine, this all adds up to a vehicle that is tough enough to provide access to the harshest routes,
yet comfortable enough to make you feel like you’re travelling with the comforts of home,” Richard added.
KEA’s enhanced 4WD fleet is currently available for rental from its nine depots across mainland Australia, as is its range of two-berth campers and four-
and six-berth motorhomes.
