Finnair was
recently rated as Japans favourite Western airline in the Top 10 Airline Survey conducted by AB-ROAD
Magazine, a respected travel magazine
published in Japan.
Overall, Finnair was ranked fourth in the survey. All Nippon was first, Singapore Airlines second and Japan Airlines third. It is notable that
Finnair performed best among Western airlines. The other airlines placed in the top ten were Emirates, Aircalin, Virgin Atlantic, Eva Airways, KLM
and Cathay Pacific.
Finnair was ranked best in three of the eight categories. The companys meal and drinks were the worlds best, in the opinion of the Japanese,
as was in-flight service. In addition, Finnair was an airline that people would most like to fly with again.
Finnair received a special mention as an airline that tries to serve on its flights meals that are designed to take the tastes of Japanese
passengers into account.
The survey was carried out in March by asking Japanese people who travelled abroad to evaluate their experiences and images of the airlines.
Nearly 5,000 people answered the questionnaire.
Finnair
operates to Japans three most important cities, Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. With additional flights planned for next spring, Finland will become the
third largest Western airline operating between Europe and Japan.
