One of the world’s legendary hotels,
the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is to reopen with a celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, 28 September 2006.
“The date was selected on the advice of our Feng Shui master, as an auspicious time to begin the historic reopening,” said the hotel’s General
Manager, Peter French. “Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong will reopen its doors with some 200 guestrooms and suites as well as the majority of the
hotel’s much-loved restaurants and bars, with the remaining rooms becoming available progressively over the remainder of the year. The
legendary Mandarin Grill & Bar will enjoy its own reopening limelight on 11 October, a new destination restaurant, Pierre will make its debut on
17 October and the new all-encompassing Spa will open in phases from 23 October,” he confirmed.
He added, “Room by room and floor by floor, every last detail is being put into place in order to continue its legendary status. Our 700-strong
team is looking forward to welcoming our guests back.”
Since its debut in 1963, the hotel has consistently set standards for service in Asia and
the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong promises to regain its position as one of the world’s legendary hotels. Rates range from
HK$ 3,400 to HK$45,000.
