China Airlines and its subsidiary Mandarin Airlines are working together to launch Lunar New Year charter flights to Mainland China. The inaugural CAL flight CI 585 will
depart Taipei for Shanghai on January 20. China Airlines will fly charter flights to Shanghai and Beijing, while subsidiary Mandarin Airlines will fly charters to Shanghai,
Guangzhou and Xiamen.
A total of 24 round-trip flights have been arranged to four destinations: Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Xiamen. Modern A330-300 and B747-400 jets will be used by
China Airlines to provide a two class service, offering Dynasty Class and Economy Class. Mandarin Airlines will use its B737-800 and a wet-leased B747-400 aircraft from
CAL, for the new year services.
China Airlines inaugural flight CI 585 will depart CKS International Airport at 07:45 and arrive in Shanghai at 10:55. The return flight CI 586 will leave Shanghai at 12:10
and arrive in Taipei at 15:30.
A health-conscious menu with a Taiwan accent will be provided on the charter
flights and the aircraft cabins have been decorated to reflect the holiday atmosphere.
