Movements in Abacus International's Leadership Team

Abacus International is expanding the roles and responsibilities of its key executives as part of its strategy to offer more competitive solutions and services to its customers.

Patrick Lai, a 26-year veteran in the travel and leisure industry, will lead Abacus Air Content Associates team in addition to his current portfolio of managing the North Asia Regional Operations. In his new role, Patrick will be accountable for airline distribution participation, air content planning and sales and marketing of Abacus knowledge management solutions, taking over the responsibilities from See-Toh Hon Chew who has left Abacus. Patrick will continue with his current role of aligning the sales, marketing and business development plans of the National Marketing Companies (NMCs) in China, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan with Abacus head office in Singapore.

IndoChina and Central Asia will be integrated into the South Asia Regional Operations under Kenneth Low, Vice President of South Asia. Based in Singapore, Kenneths expanded role now includes driving the sales, marketing and developments plans of key markets including Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Central Asia, East Timor, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

Albert Hong has relinquished his current portfolio as Director of IndoChina and Central Asia to accept the position of Director, Fares and Pricing, responsible for heading Abacus Fares Line of business. Albert joined Abacus in 1990 and has more than 16 years of experience in the GDS business, from his recent role in regional operations to information technology (IT) management.
