Marco Groten has taken up the role of General Manger of the Evason Hideaway & Six Senses Spa at Yao Noi, a picturesque island in Phang Nga
Bay located between Phuket and Krabi in Thailand.
Marco previously spent a 2 year stint at Soneva Gili & Six Senses Spa in the Maldives where he held the role of Resort Manager, where he was in
charge of day to day operations of the resort. He joined Soneva Gili as EAM with duties that included all aspects of the Mr and Ms Friday and Guest
Relations services plus other operating departments such as reception, reservations and security. He also the supervised the Six Senses Gallery
and oversaw the quality performance of the resorts water activities.
Prior to joining Soneva Gili, Marco held roles in Phuket, Indonesia and the Caribbean following his graduation from Hotel Management School and
Cornell University.
The Evason Hideaway at Yao Noi, scheduled to open in early 2007, consists of 55 pool villas set in natural vegetation and tropical landscaping,
providing privacy between the elevated villas and allowing glorious views over Phang
Nga. There will be several restaurants and bars, a wine cellar and a chefs table; and a Six Senses
Spa village.
